What else can businesses do to help celebrate Earth Day on April 22?

Recycled Paper

We offer several types of recycled paper for envelopes, letterhead and
business cards made with a percentage of post-consumer or
pre-consumer recycled content. Recycled paper is great for the
environmentally conscious customer who wants to demonstrate
his or her organization’s environmental awareness.

Soy Inks

Soy-based inks are used for all envelope and letterhead printing at
Curtis 1000. Completely hazard-free, the use of soy-based ink
contributes to our goal of reducing the impact we make on our
environment. We offer you the option to use the “Printed with
Soy Ink” emblem on your stationery.

Promotional Products

What better way to show your environmental awareness than with a
green promotional product from Curtis 1000? Padfolios, drinkware,
pens, note pads and bags are just a few of the environmentally
friendly products we offer that are made from recycled or
biodegradable materials. These are a great green marketing tool
for tradeshows, career fairs, or internal promotions.

Apparel

We offer a wide variety of shirts, hats, and fleeces made from
environmentally friendly materials such as recycled plastic bottles,
organic cotton, bamboo, and even coconut shells to be imprinted
or embroidered with your organization’s logo.

CurtisDirect® Gives Bank Control Over Stationery Program

Challenge:

Our client is a full-service community bank with over 300 branches in nine states. The bank’s corporate
identity and imprinting program for
branch stationery orders (business cards,
letterheads, envelopes, and address labels)
required a high number of touches, causing
longer order cycles and increased chances of
errors.

Repeat orders were faxed along with sample
copy, which needed to be matched with an
art file and sent to plate-making. A plate was made and the order was printed. New or revised orders were branches to the bank’s in-house help desk. An order processor would in turn create an art file for the order and send the order to us. We used a film-to-plate processor, finally getting the order on the press and out the door—all without a proofing mechanism to check logo placement, correctness of copy, or typestyle.

Solution:

The Curtis 1000 sales consultant presented
CurtisDirect® to this client. CurtisDirect is
a powerful, customer-specific, online print
management tool that streamlines the ordering
process for printed materials. Our eBusiness
team set up the rules to match this bank’s
corporate standards. These rules apply to all branch orders and prevent the use of incorrect fonts, invalid logo placements, wrong Pantone colors, and any other issue that would affect adherence to corporate identity standards. CurtisDirect also offers online virtual proofs instantly to the branch employees placing the orders.

Results:

All of this client’s employees now have the ability to order business cards, letterheads, envelopes, address labels, and even holiday currency envelopes, online through an efficient order process and view a proof in real-time. Orders are sent direct-to-plate, printed, and shipped — all within five business days. Curtis 1000 even sends samples of orders to the bank’s corporate office, where the stationery is randomly checked for compliance with standards. The new, streamlined process has reduced turn times, minimized errors, and enhanced branding efforts—giving our client a new level of control over their print program.
