art file and sent to plate-making. A plate was made and the order was printed. New or revised orders were branches to the bank’s in-house help desk. An order processor would in turn create an art file for the order and send the order to us. We used a film-to-plate processor, finally getting the order on the press and out the door—all without a proofing mechanism to check logo placement, correctness of copy, or typestyle.
