Residents of Loganville, Georgia, will be lining up along the highway to give their soldier a warm welcome home.
Sgt. 1st Class Mark Allen is coming home from a VA hospital in Tampa, Florida, where he has been in rehabilitation. Mark sustained a critical head injury from a sniper’s bullet in Afghanistan in 2009. Although he is unable to walk or talk, he retains memories and knows his family.
On Friday, December 23, 2011, Mark comes home a hero. We fondly remember Mark and his wife, Shannon, from their days as Curtis 1000 employees, and we remember the days just before he deployed to Afghanistan. He had already served in Iraq, and we hated the thought of giving him up again.
We salute Mark and Shannon. We’re happy to have them back in Georgia, along with their children, Cody and Journey, and we wish them all the best.
